N99i - This Texting iPhone Clone Has Dual Sim Slots, a Full Keyboard and Analog TV

For the longest time, the dual sim, contract free clones which didn't totally rely upon a touch screen were few and far between. Not everyone enjoys texting on glass. Some like the finger touch interface, but would like real, raised keys on which to message. One of the more popular phones which fit this bill is the N99i, which is sometimes also called the Nokia N99i. I will discuss some of the features of this phone in the article below.

Free, Real Time Analog TV: Other then the full keyboard, the thing which gets this phone the most attention is it's TV feature. Many confuse this with the "tv out" feature that is included on many of the clones, wherein you can hook the phone's video up to a larger TV screen or a computer so that you don't have to watch the video on the small screen of your phone. What the 99i has instead is an analog television built into the phone which allows you to use an antenna to pick up local programming in real time for free. You don't any software or plan for this either.

The reception on this model is very good, as are the picture and sound. I was able to pick up the NHL football games inside of an airport, which helped my squirming kid (and myself) calm down considerably.

Additional Features: Other than the keyboard and the TV, this clone is pretty similar to many of the other iPhone clones in that it packs tons of features into one small gadget. There is web browsing, messaging, email, Bluetooth (dual Bluetooth in this case), FM radio, e book reader, MP3 / MP4, and digital camera and web cam (dual cameras as well).

Both of the sim cards on this phone can be online at once. This means that theoretically, you could have two different carriers for separate purposes. For example, you could have a data plan on AT&T or a prepaid T mobile sim, while having a cheaper talk plan on another card.

Full Sized Phone And Screen: This is more of a full sized phone than many of the minis out now. I find that I need the full 3 inch screen for watching television. I don't want to have to squint. This phone weighs about 145 grams. The memory on this phone is expandable so you can add memory cards as the phone grows or you download / save more documents or games.

Price: The price on this phone has come down from what it was when it first came out. Even these phones loaded with as much as 8GB of memory almost always come in at well under $120. Considering that you can't even get a decent portable TV for that price, most consider this a decent deal.
